Mouth blown, scissor-cut glass for E & Y

“I was so amazed to learn that molten glass can be cut using scissors that I decided to sketch some vases and literally cut them out of hot glass. An extra layer of playfulness came from the interpretation of my sketch by the person cutting the glass and all the lively, unplanned twists and turns that happened while the glass was being worked.” Original prototypes developed with Lasisirkus at Nuutajärvi, Finland for Puhdetyö exhibition at Helsinki Design Week in 2019. Mouthblown glass produced in Japan.
